About Me

My name is Samuel Nils Hart. I am a Linux and Open-Source/Free-Software fanatic. I have been working with computers for over 20 years now, and have experience with most operating systems and programming languages. Presently I spent most of my computer time inside the Linux OS, but I have been known to frequent BeOS, FreeBSD and on occassion CP/M on my legacy 286.

I have studied Physics and Mathematics from The University of Arizona. However, all of my computer knowledge is self-taught, and I have not taken any computer science courses (except for the rare "dead and dying languages" class such as Fortran and Pascal).

Sometimes I go by the monicker "Criswell". This comes from my years drawing the comic strip, Strenua Inertia, which at one point was in four "real" newspapers, a dozen college newspapers, and many Linux User Group newsletters nationwide.

Currently, I manage a few free-software/open-source projects, which are listed on my files page.

You can find my page on Advogato at http://advogato.org/person/criswell/.
