Probably the most active thing on this website is my homepage. There
you can find out all about me, explore my wiki, and see all the
Free-Software and Open-Source projects I'm involved with.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, I drew a comic strip called "Strenua
Inertia" (which is latin, basically meaning 'hard at work at nothing') under the
monicker of Criswell (after the late, great actor and psychic). The comic strip was
generally dark and twisted, but it did have quite a following. Though not exclusively
dedicated to the subject, it was the first comic strip (that I know of) to feature
Linux & Open-Source themed material. I no longer draw for it, but you can see all the
classic strips here.

CLAN of the ANGRY MONKEY is my online video gaming clan. We're
mainly comprised of Linux & Unix geeks, but do welcome anyone interested in semi-competitive
online gaming.

Who is the DISCO-NAUT? I guess you can call this "an
experimental online cartoon" but I call it "what happens when I'm unemployed for too
long and have spent entirely too much time online looking through free image archives". I
also call it a bandwidth-hog... modem users beware.

Extremely Blee was a comic strip that my ex-wife did briefly in 2000.
I found it very funny, but she eventually stopped doing it roughly when I stopped doing
mine.

Over the years drawing Strenua Inertia I accumulated quite a few notebooks full of
rough sketches and doodles I knew I would never be able to turn into Strenua Inertia comics.
So, one day I had the bright idea of making a free-form comic strip out of these rough
drawings... and, lo, Marginal Humor was born. This time I drew under
the monicker of "Mort" (simply because "Marginal Humor, by Mort" was fun to say). This
strip didn't last too long (actually was harder to do than I had expected),
and the vast majority of my doodles never made it into it.

My very first semester at the U of A (years ago) I took a class that forever changed my outlook on
science and technology. For a final project in that class, I wrote A Brief History of
Home Video Games which was intended to be a critical look at the history of home video games. I
completed it up to the video game consoles available at that time (the 16-bit era) and always intended to
go back and add more, keeping it up to date, but never did. It is presented here in its entirety. Be
warned, however, I have since found out that some of my references were not too accurate.

At one point I tried doing an ASCII-based comic strip, but it turned out being quite
hard to do on a daily basis. So there are only a few strips here... But they are funny regardless. Check out
ASCII COMICS.

In 2000 I left my job for a new one at Intel. I thought I'd use this experience
to create a Strenua Inertia spin-off strip based on my Linux SysAdmin characters.
Unfortunately, I had little free-time to keep it up while working there.
