/dev/null is the first (and probably only ;) spin-off of the Strenua Inertia comic strip. It stars the Strenua Inertia characters developed in the fall of 1999 which had a decidedly computer oriented theme. Because of the popularity of these characters, as was evident in the increased readership at this time, they practically took over Strenua Inertia. This somewhat alienated the traditional Strenua Inertia fans (though this had not been the first time a computer and open-source theme had been used in the comic), and I started noticing a rift in the e-mail I was receiving. Enter 2000..... Many people all over the world began celebrating change, progress, and all that crap.... I began pining for chances to start using some of my older Strenua Inertia characters, without discarding my newer characters. A break from one of the more opressive publications I was in gave me a chance to split the comic strip and pursue a spin-off series. /dev/null/ is that series. What does "/dev/null" mean? Get Linux, and type "man null" at a command prompt. If you are a penguinophobe, then why don't you go and Ask Jeeves and remain clueless. | |||||
