PlayStation2

The PlayStation2 is a pretty neat system, and is currently my favorite console. It has a very powerful graphic engine, plays PlayStation? games and DVDs (very well on both, I might add) and has had some exceptional games. It is currently the #1 selling console in the US and Japan (haven't followed the other markets) and has recently launched what has become the most successful online option for a console ever (granted, there has only been a few entrances into online gaming from consoles previously, like the Sega Dreamcast and Sega's early Saturn modem).

The PS2's biggest problem is undoubtedly the fact that it doesn't have enough video RAM for it's abilities. This caused many first generation PS2 games to have "the jaggies" (actually, caused by a number of different techniques some developers used to overcome the low-RAM). However, now techniques have been pretty much perfected to eliminate "jaggies" altogether from PS2 games (just look at SOCOM US Navy Seals or the upcoming Ratchet & Clank.)
