UNIX03/Encrypt An Archive

Classnotes | UNIX03 | RecentChanges | Preferences

Using aespipe, encrypt and archive of something on your system (it would be best if that something was at least 30 Mb uncompressed, something like /etc would probably come close to fitting that bill).

You will have to download and install aespipe. Compile it just like you would any other Linux application. Once you have done that, perform the actual encryption.

  • HINT: The aespipe documenation actually has a very simple example of how to do this. You could just follow their example if you choose to.
