UNIX03/Configure SAMBA Securely

Classnotes | UNIX03 | RecentChanges | Preferences

Set up a Samba sever with public and private group shares. Everyone will be in the public group, but only certain members will be in the private group, as detailed in the following

Additionally, set up a third share that will contain a database which can only be written to by the following users:

  • clarke
  • poole
  • bowman

and yet is readable by all.

Set these shares up under the /home/share directory, and be sure to take into account all of the security issues we have covered today (including the restriction of root access, instead create an administrative account that has read/write access on every share).
