ClanAMWiki | RecentChanges | Preferences The biggest problem with a gaming clan like ours is that it can be hard for new members to join us what with all the patches and mods needed. This page will hopefully clear that up and give you detailed step by step instructions for joining us. If you are a clan-member and see any problems here, please correct them ;-)
Unreal Tournament
For Unreal Tournament, you need to be running version 436 and have all of the Bonus Packs installed. These can be found on the "ClanAM Required CD", or you can get them online. In fact, BeyondUnreal.com has an excellent online resource which has all of the essential files for UT here:
If you are playing under Linux, then you probably want to get the non-UMOD files (which are just ZIP files). If you are playing under Windows, then you probably want to get the UMOD files (which you can just click on to install).
If you have Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition
Your life will be very easy if you have UT:GOTY Edition, as most of the packs are already installed. You will, however, need the following:
You may also want to install the additional texture libraries and mods which you find [here]. However, these are completely optional (and may cause problems, so use at your own risk!)
Installing Maps
Installing maps is really easy. Each map is distributed as a ZIP file. Inside the ZIP file will be more files that comprise the maps. Generally, there will also be a README file of some sort telling you what to do. However, the general rule of thumb is as follows:
For UT2k3, you will have to be running the latest patch from Epic (2225) as well as have all the latest bonus packs and weekly maps installed. For Windows and Linux it's actually quite different, so here's how to do it:
Windows Players
Okay, so the Windows players have the easiest time getting things up and running. Boo-hoo... oh well. Basically, you need the following:
1. Install the 2225 Patch for Windows (get it [here])
2. Install the Digital Extremes Bonus Pack (get it [here])
Alright, we get the short end of the deal here. In order to get up to 2225, you must install all of the upgrades from the beginning and in the proper order. Sorry folks, them's the breaks.
