These days web-browsers suck. I mean, let's be serious here.... should my browser run poorly on my 64 meg laptop with a 200 meg swap space?!! So what's the problem? The problem is that we have two main graphical browsers, both of which interpret web-content slightly differently. Both allow for plug-ins, and have scads of features. They can do e-mail, compose web-pages, run Java, JavaScript, and show (in varying degrees) most image/auido/movie formats out there. I.E..... THEY ARE BLOATED! Bloated, fat, incompatible, boorish, horrid, icky, nasty, and problematic. However, there are still a great many other options available to the browsing public.... they just need to use them! There is Lynx, a wonderfull little text-based browser, and Debris, another text-based browser for those who think that even Lynx is too bloated. Well, this site is for all those text-browsers of the world! The internet started out as text, and it's our job to take it back! | |||||
